Welcome to the website and homepage for Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA (also known as PHS/SPCA for short). Potential adopters can look for an adoptable homeless pet. We have cute and adorable adoptable puppies, dogs, kittens, cats, bunnies, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, rats, exotic animals like snakes, lizards, turtles, iguanas, bearded dragons, birds like parrots, budgies, doves, cockatiels, and farm animals like horses, chickens, pigs, goats. Animal lovers from the San Francisco Bay Area and Peninsula area are encouraged to visit our adoption center and home in Burlingame California. Our humane society also has a Wildlife Care Center where we care for orphaned and injured wildlife from San Mateo County. Monthly events include low-cost vaccination clinic, a pet loss support group, obedience classes, and education programs. Annual fun fundraisers include the Mutt Strutt dog walk-a-thon, a fashion for compassion show, a black-tie gala auction ball and a golf tournament. All proceeds benefit the shelter animals in our care. You can help the shelter animals by shopping online at our store or onsite boutique Furchandise for shirts or pet supplies. PHS also runs a thrift store Pick of the Litter. Our low-cost Spay and Neuter Clinic is located at our San Mateo location near Coyote Point. A mobile spay/neuter clinic offers free fixes around the county. Show your support for animals by fostering, adopting, volunteering or donating to the shelter. Volunteer opportunities include dog walking and cat socialization. Junior volunteer opportunities are available for kids 13 and up.
